Our Proven Member Impact
The 2023 Social Impact Study proved that Timebanking is a powerful tool for building personal and community well-being. The data from our members is clear and unanimous.
Social Connection
95% of members feel more socially connected since joining.
Timebanking directly combats loneliness by creating new friendships and support networks.
Total Well-being
100% of members reported an improvement in their well-being.
This includes mental, emotional, and physical health, with 45% reporting it improved “a lot”.
Independence
90% of members felt their sense of independence increased.
Providing a “safety net” of support empowers members and gives them more control over their lives.
How It Works
Our model is built on the simple, radical idea that everyone’s time is valuable. Members exchange services, skills, and support using one simple currency: time.
-
👥 1-to-1 Exchanges
The core of the timebank. A member gets help with gardening and gives an hour of IT support to someone else.
-
🤝 Meitheals (Groups)
An old Irish custom of good neighbourliness. A group comes together to help one member with a large task, like painting a shed.
-
🎓 Workshops
Educational events where members share a skill, like “Composting Essentials” or “Natural Beekeeping,” for time credits.
-
☕️ Social Meetups
Events like a music session or craft group, designed purely to build community and social connection.
Our Members: The “Who”
Our members are the heart of the timebank. The 2023 study gave us a clear picture of who they are (the “macro” data) and what the timebank means to them (the “micro” stories).

Our Future: The 2025 Strategy
Our 2023 impact was proven, but it also revealed challenges. Our new “Zero-Overhead Sustainability” strategy creates a resilient, agile, and integrated future for the timebank.
-
01. Co-Location
Instead of paying rent, we partner with Family Resource Centres and Libraries to use their premises for a visible, credible “hot-desk” base of operations.
-
02. Volunteer-Led Model
Instead of relying on unsustainable paid staff, we partner with Volunteer Centres to actively recruit unpaid volunteers for all core admin and outreach roles.
-
03. “Hour Generation”
A “win-win” model. We partner with groups like Tidy Towns and Men’s Sheds to offer Time Credits as a formal reward for *their* existing volunteers, generating a “wealth” of hours for the bank.
